There are perhaps only a few things that are as satisfying as sharing knowledge and enriching the lives of generations to follow. Vivekananda Welfare Foundation (VWF) provides aid to Educational, Vocational and Technical Institutions, Colleges, Senior Secondary Schools, Public Schools, Adult Education Centers, and Libraries throughout the state for the welfare of the general public, especially those belonging to the weaker sections.
Vivekananda Welfare Foundation is committed to providing basic education and healthcare to underprivileged children. The Foundation believes that whether you are addressing healthcare, poverty, population control, unemployment or human rights, there's no better place to start than in the corridors of education.
The Foundation’s main purpose is to spread education and literacy among the masses and underprivileged. It works for education for underprivileged children who are under difficult circumstances, such as child labour, children of poorest of the parents, children inflicted and affected with HIV/AIDS, street and runaway children, children with rare disabilities and slum children. Special emphasis is given on girl education and women education, so that they and their families get empowered.
Since its inception many underprivileged children have directly benefitted from our own initiative - PRATIBHA (A free educational initiative of VWF towards underprivileged children) Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world and the most effective way to break out of the cycle of poverty. Yet, after 70 years of Independence, over two crore children (NSS-2014) still remain out-of-school in India. These children are not only deprived of their right to receive an education but they lose their childhood to earn bread for a living.
Government through its Right to Education Act, 2009 have been making its way in enrolling and retaining children in school especially from the marginalized sector. Though the government through it's various educational schemes is giving all its efforts towards making education accessible to everyone yet it has always been a great challenge for the Indian government to execute it at the practical and grassroot level. So, the foundation feels it is the moral & social responsibility as an NGO to extend its help & support to the Government to make education accessible to each & everyone at the grassroot level.

The one who heals has always been considered to be closest to God and the hand that heals is directed by a pious heart full of love, kindness, empathy and divinity. We, at VWF, have been making our humble contributions towards the field of health and medical care in many ways. It gives assistance in medical issues. It also supports Blood Banks, Dispensaries, Health Check-up camp, Blood Donation Camps throughout the state and provides medical relief and treatment to persons suffering from physical, mental and other ailments on a charitable basis.
Taking care of health is our sole responsibility but the vulnerable sectors of the society are kept untouched with the basic health care facilities. They are not even able to get the basic facilities of the society and at the end, they come in the trap of a number of chronic and acute diseases. VWF is continuously scouting the people living here and even providing them with the basic healthcare treatments and medicines as per the limited resources.
After doing a survey in the rural sections of the society, we have found the number of people suffering from the major and severe health problems. The biggest reason for these health disparities here is malnutrition and pathetic slum living facilities. The air they breathe, the water they drink and even food they eat are totally contrary and pathetic to the normal and healthy living facilities. Due to all such factors, The Team VWF is working dedicatedly to bring the highest quality health care services to doorsteps and also promoting health awareness programs. This has become the vital need here at the moment which has to be fulfilled soon.
Urban slum dwellers suffer from adverse health conditions owing to mainly two reasons - first the lack of education and thus lack of awareness; and second the unwillingness to lose a day’s wage in order to reach the nearest medical facility. Healthcare for underprivileged, which is a desperate need, thus remains unaddressed.
In such a scenario a mobile healthcare services delivery system is the most practical mechanism. And in subscription to this view, Vivekananda Welfare Foundation is going to initiate the Wheels programme. This is a unique mobile hospital programme that seeks to address problems of mobility, accessibility and availability of primary healthcare with a special focus on children and women, in urban slums and remote rural areas.

Vivekananda Welfare Foundation is trying to provide a platform by framing a separate wing for the women where they can vocalize & express their opinions as well as empower themselves.
The Foundation has firm faith in the power, capabilities and potential of women to equally contribute towards the development of the society. The women actively participates in various awareness campaigns concerning the needs & rights of women as well as in all the services , initiatives, and other skill projects of VWF.

Vivekananda Welfare Foundation's Disaster Management initiative works to provide rapid and effective relief measures to the regions impacted by natural calamities. Our strategy encompasses Preparedness, Response, Recovery, and Rehabilitation with an approach of ‘Building Back Safer’. Vivekananda Welfare Foundation carries out an annual risk profiling and mapping of vulnerable locations in the state of India to enhance its preparedness to respond during emergencies. Long term engagement with the affected communities and efforts made to provide them immediate relief for recovery are the primary focus of our Disaster Management mandate.
Being a disaster prone country, India is highly vulnerable to various types of natural calamities due to its geographical positioning. According to the National Disaster Management Authority, Govt. of India, more than 58.6% of the country's landmass is prone to earthquakes and over 12% is prone to floods; close to 5,700 kms out of the 7,516kms long coastline is prone to cyclones and tsunamis; while 68% of its cultivable area is prone to droughts which is why disaster preparedness is of utmost importance.
VWF, with its welfare interventions focused on children and vulnerable families, responds to the call of humanity in times of such calamities under its Disaster Response programme through emergency relief programs. During any kind of calamities occurred within our reach, we at VWF tried our best to reach the spot and extended our helping hands to the affected families suffered due to natural calamities like earthquake, floods, fire, Covid-19 Pandemic etc. VWF has acted promptly to reach out and respond to the immediate needs of the disaster affected people, while also maintaining a sustainable approach to help them rebuild their lives by facilitating their education, healthcare and livelihood.
Vivekananda Welfare Foundation that has recently emerged as a dynamic player in extending disaster response and preparedness activities to stand tall against the disasters like Covid-19 Pandemic.
Every time any natural disaster has occurred in our country, it has brought devastation of millions of lives and has traumatized several individuals by killing their family members and friends. As per the National Disaster Management Authority, the way humans have played with the environment's feelings, it's not wrong to say that natural disasters would take more often in the years to come due to the revenge seeking mood of the environment. Being also a disaster response NGO, we have served underprivileged communities with flood & fire relief material such as drinking water facilities, food item distribution, and healthcare and medical support. We have assisted flood survivors of Assam, and other states in order to rebuild their lives. We have taken several initiatives to bring the disaster-affected lives back on track.
Underprivileged families went through a lot of disturbances whenever any disaster took place. During the disaster period, they don't get enough to satisfy their hunger, struggle to manage a shelter for survival, and rebuilding of dreams seems to be too imaginary for them. We need to determine the ways through which people from all the communities would prepare themselves for responding emergencies and coping with wrecks as well. In addition to this, we are deriving the appropriate solutions for handling disasters and emergencies and don't let them worsen the condition for underprivileged ones and others. At VWF, we are responding to the needs of frontline workers, along with people belonging to vulnerable families.
We believe that our ethical steps in the direction of supporting the sufferers of natural disasters will transform the lives of many, and things would get restored as they were before the disaster occurred. Besides this, we expect people should come in massive numbers to lend their helping hands to the victims of disasters.
Marching Ahead Amid COVID-19 Pandemic, our NGO, VWF, is rising against the cruelties of COVID-19 pandemic, and along with serving the slum dwellers, we have distributed relief materials to daily wage workers. We are concerned about floods and other catastrophes, and also we are actively working for COVID-19 affected families since its inception. We have done our bit and made efforts to fight hard against hunger and fear-like situations caused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With our recent interventions, we have served the victims of different disasters and COVID-19 pandemic, and we still feel that we have to do a lot more for the necessary ones.
VWF has consistently risen to provide assistance to people suffering due to disasters and Pandemic so that they can survive against the hard times. Recently, amid the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have taken country-wide initiatives to make the life-surviving facilities reach every sufferer’s door

Vivekananda Welfare Foundation is also playing an important role in framing the environmental policy, mobilizing public support for environmental conservation, and protecting the endangered species of forests and animals. VWF exposes the global environmental problems and provides solutions for a healthy environment. We, at VWF, aim at promoting environmental awareness by conducting various educational campaigns among the masses. We conduct campaigns across the state & country to create awareness among people about the depleting natural resources. We have tried to help reduce deforestation, soil erosion, and we educate the people on the significance of segregating waste material into biodegradable waste. VWF, is taking steps to educate people and make them aware of the perishing environment.
We also help in preserving the environment by promoting methods for rain water and nature conservation. Planting trees, recycling waste materials, and reducing pollution are some of the steps we propagate to make the Earth a better place to live in. We, at VWF, always address the need to conserve nature and environment with utmost priority. Our role is also vital for other campaigns like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Cleanliness Drive and Plantation Drive etc. which we conduct on regular basis in order to create mass awareness among the people of our country to maintain the ecological balance of our mother earth.

Vivekananda Welfare Foundation believes in promoting Art & Culture because it encourages and benefits local economics and create opportunities for artisans, performers, and entrepreneurs. Art and culture can help youth develop life skills, boost self-esteem, and encourage social engagement. Arts education can enhance academic achievements, reading skills, creative and critical thinking, agility, and collaboration skills. Art can provide a platform for self-expression and allow people to celebrate their lives.
India, with its vibrant diversity is a treasure trove of art and culture. From the intricate carvings of ancient temples to the rhythmic beats of classical music and the kaleidoscope of colours in traditional dances, the essence of India’s art and culture is woven deeply into its identity. India’s cultural fabric is intricately woven with a myriad of religions, languages, traditions, and lifestyles. Despite this diversity, art, and culture have acted as a unifying force, transcending boundaries and fostering a sense of national identity. Festivals like Diwali, Eid, Christmas, and Holi bring people from different communities together, promoting harmony, understanding, and tolerance.
Traditional art forms, such as Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Odissi, and Kathakali, showcase the beauty of Indian culture and serve as a common thread that binds the nation. Art and culture provide a platform for creativity and self-expression, nurturing individual talent and imagination.
So Vivekananda Welfare Foundation have come up with a crucial role in promoting arts & culture by providing individuals with opportunities to explore their artistic talents and interests. We at VWF contribute to arts education through workshops, art festivals, and community- based projects.
By organising these events, we strive to offer and create a platform for exchange of art and culture both regionally across India and Internationally for individuals to engage with various forms of art, such as painting, sculpture, handloom, handicrafts, music, dance, and theatre.
We make relentless efforts to create awareness about the rich Indian culture through different performing arts such as dance, music and folk and tribal art forms across India.
Through seminars, programmes, festivals, and exhibitions on cultural subjects, we create awareness and promote different art forms to address and combat social evils such as tackling climate change, unemployment and health issues etc.
